Michael Gabriel

Michael Gabriel - is a painter, printmaker and illustrator. He has specialized in art direction and background painting for many internationally acclaimed animated films including 'The Snowman', 'Pink Floyd, The Wall', 'Famous Fred', 'The Wind in the Willows', 'The Bear', 'When the Wind Blows', 'War Game', and three 'Asterix' films. He was background director for the award winning series 'The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends'.

He studied at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and The Ruskin School of Drawing in Oxford. He was a founder member of Oxford Printmakers and has taught etching, painting, and life drawing classes for many years.

Michael often draws from a live theatre, creating a record of actors, dancers, and performers from broad spectrum of theatre in England and abroad.

He has exhibited at Christ Church Picture Gallery, Oxford, Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery, and Gloucester City Museum and Art Gallery. His work is represented in the print collection of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
     
 
Sol Ray

Sol Ray is a professional artist and a founder of two children's charities Rise Phoenix and Funforlife. Apart from painting murals and entertaining at children's parties, Sol Ray works for the children's educational theatre charity FunForLife. He has taught art at Brooks University, Oxford, where he took his honours arts degree.

Sol Ray has brought art and theatre to tens of thousands of children in England and abroad. He has worked with film and TV stars like Jerome Flynn, Linus Roach, and Adrian Rawlins and was helped in his charity work by celebrities like Robson Green, Emma Thompson, Radiohead, Dorris Lessing, Quentin Blake, Alan Plater, Alan Ayckbourn, David Hare, Desmond Morris, Esther Freud, Fay Maschler and Jan Pienklowski. He has also worked in collaboration with organisations like The Red Cross, UNICEF, Save the Children, UNHCR and War Child. Sol Ray's work has been featured on BBC 24; ITV Central; Richard and Judy; Oxford Channel Six; Daily Telegraph; The Sun; Oxford Mail and Ham and High.
